Starting procedure
Due to the bottle neck nature of the starting area. There will be a mass start, but runners will self seed according to where they believe they will fit in the group. Runners will line up roughly alphanumerically. Please do not be over confident. If you think you are faster than you are, you will be quickly be annoyed with the sound of “On Your Left”. To get the best idea of your average time, we recommend running the first 3 miles of the course. The race will start in the parking lot at the top of the North Ogden Divide. However, remember, participants will be parking at the Finish area and boarding a shuttle that will take them to the Start Line. Parking at the start line is very limited. Just ride the bus!
Check in Procedures
Check in will happen when you get off the bus at the start line. Everyone must check in at the start line. Yes, you checked in and got your bib. Yes, you got on the bus, but if you do not check in at the start line, you will receive DNS (Did not start) and if you get lost you will be on your own because we will not know you are on the trail… So PLEASE remember to check in at the start line.
Check in is from 5:15 am – 5:45 am….. Please do not show up at 5:45. Just get on the bus, show up a bit early, check in, and warm up.
Parking
Parking is available on the east side of Eden Park. Please do not park on the north side of the park as that is where runners will be passing through on their way to the finish.
Shuttle Leaves Eden Park at 5:15 a.m.
Worse case scenario you miss the shuttle, you can still drive to the start time, but you have to find your own ride back to your car as there will not be one provided. And this doesn’t mean you can pretend you missed the shuttle just so you can park at the start line. You are paying for the bus, just use it please!
Start: Runners will start at 6:00 am.
Awards / Raffle
Awards will be given to the top three men and women.
Rules and Regulations
Dropping Out
If for some reason you need to withdrawal from the race, you need to let the volunteers at the aid station know. We so not recommend withdrawing while up on the skyline trail. If you do that, you will still need to walk down. If you are unable to go further, ask another runner to inform the aid station that you are in need of help. In this situation search and rescue will be called out to extract you from the mountain.
Dogs
I know this is a tough subject on both sides, but the answer is no. Dogs are not allowed to run with you during the event. We love them to, but there is just to much potential for problems. And yes, we know your dog would never do that and is the best behaved dog on the trail, but even if this really is the case, the answer is still not. Feel free to bring them on all your training runs, just don’t bring them on race day. Thanks for understanding.
Pacers
Pacers are welcome to run with you from Aid Station #2 (Wind Surfer Beach). But they can not start with you. And if they are pacing you please remind them that they did not pay for the race, so please go easy on the aid station grub.
Headphones
Headphones are welcome, but we recommend that you keep them at a decent volume or keep one ear free, so you can hear whats going on around you. We don’t want you to wet yourself when someone comes up behind you, or even worse not hear a rattle snake or a moose that has it out for you.
